I really appreciate living in the Paris metro sometimes. Like any large city, it's a melting pot of cultures and background. While eating luch with three of my co-workers today, I realized that, of the four of us, we each had different mother tongues (american, french, russian, and créole) all four of us have lived in at least one other country (three of us were born in different countires), all four of us speak at least two languages currently, and three of us speak more than one language at home regularly. How cool is that, really? Paris metro is the only place I've been where when poeple ask you where you're from, they're looking for a country not a city. I feel cultured. : )
