Friaday Night with Loïc,Vanessa and Sandy, we caught a show at La Nouvelle Eve Caberet in Montmartre. It was just across the street from The Moulin Rouge and we got a great deal on 'drink and a show' tickets at lastminute.com (only 21€!)
We had dinner and a few drinks at The Café Deux Moulins that was featured in the movie Amélie. It has changed a lot since then with new paint, tile floor, chairs and tables in a pastel theme. Latin music bumped loud as a dance club and the drinks were uber sweet and garnished with glow stick stirs.

Though we paniked when we found ourselves at the end of a long line forming outside the cabert, we didn't have anything to worry about. We we're seated towards the back of the small room at our own table right center stage. Not bad for chep seats!
The show reminded me a lot of our high school kick line. Same style choreography with plenty of high kicks.
The show started with a topless thonged girls as shock factor then tamed out into full costumes, each number with it's own background.
Besides dancers and the leading lady singer there were jugglers, interactive comedy acts, an acrobat comedian, and a cool half living statue / half puppetry bit that had us wowed. With some clever lighting the lady actually loses her face then her whole head, which then flies away! Hard to imagine but amazing to see.
The costumes were great. From strappy S&M style to traditional can can to sparkly bras and huge head dresses. My favorite costume was when the girls came out in little dresses with the biggest sparkly blue bows you've ever seen attached to their bums. Super cute!
They also did a few cool staging things like the seat that lowers from the ceiling, and fake flames that blow on stage. At one moment one of the guys jumped out of the uppermost scenery and stepped out into the lighting to play a saxaphone. I cold'nt tell if he was attached to anything. I was sure he was going to fall!
The can can was the best though, said the tourist, the girls could all do the splits, the guys too! They would jump into the air and land in a full splits with a loud thump. Then the girls held a foot in one hand all the way up and then joined armsand hopped around in a circle. They even made a bridge out of two girls upstretched legs and danced underneath in a train. Very impressive! All in all, I'm super glad we went. I think we all havd a great time and if ever I end up in Paris again, I would for sure consider going back!
